Anaria - Disease (Hard Rock/Metal Lady Gaga Cover)

When we heard Lady Gaga’s new song, “Disease”, we knew we had to cover it. Not only is the Phrygian mode a harmonic syntax Anaria uses as a part of our regular sound, but Gaga’s themes of darkness and duality are perfectly in line with many of the themes we have explored and continue to explore. The song itself already has an inherent heaviness to it—we just brought it to the next level with some well-placed electric guitars and hard hitting drums. Also, we love Lady Gaga--and Lady Gaga loves heavy metal. We covered "Bad Romance" in the past for our live show, and we are so excited to bring this version of "Disease" to the live stage.

Fantastic cover! Generally, I'm very picky about covers (dislike 9/10 of them) but you all blew it out of the water! You hit the balance of making a song your own with added elements while respecting the integrity and energy. The vocals at 3:31 were so unexpected and hauntingly beautiful that it gave me full body chills.
