Kevin also wrote reflective sonnets in shortened form to chronicle the endeavor, and the efforts were lauded by noted celebrities such as Steve Martin, Keanu Reeves, and others. "Who knows what could have happened to us? There should have been hundreds of people doing what I did and following the call to graces with Sir Stewart," Kevin quips about the experience. "I will always be thankful to him for what was given in such a perilous and precarious time."
Garlic is considered a 'black' food in Ayurvedic medicine and meditational paths, and yet has healing properties, from anti-bacterial, anti-parasitic, to pulmonary benefit to the heart and other organs. But it must be consumed raw to reap the benefit; a painful process. To eat raw garlic is a wrathful healing process. The fidelity of the root had been seen as uncommon, but necessary.
There are times in life we do what we must, even if not understood or thought uncomfortable by others, for the benefit overall.
Sonnet 118
Like as, to make our appetites more keen,
With eager compounds we our palate urge;
As, to prevent our maladies unseen,
We sicken to shun sickness when we purge;
Even so, being full of your ne'er-cloying sweetness,
To bitter sauces did I frame my feeding;
And, sick of welfare, found a kind of meetness
To be diseased, ere that there was true needing.
Thus policy in love, to anticipate
The ills that were not, grew to faults assured,
And brought to medicine a healthful state
Which, rank of goodness, would by ill be cured;
But thence I learn and find the lesson true,
Drugs poison him that so fell sick of you.
