Touring the Historic Château de Hautefort and Château de Jumilhac

Journey to the Château, Ep. 211 - In this week's Friday episode, Patrick and Stuart share video and images of their visits to two historic chateaux in the Dordogne region of France. They first tour the Château de Hautefort, which was reconstructed in the 17th century and has been host for several movies through the decades. Then they tour the Château de Jumilhac in Périgord that was constructed between the 13th and 17th centuries, and learn that there are noble family connections from Jumilhac to their Château de Colombe.

Stuart & Patrick…. I love watching Youtubers who are restoring the beautiful château. I am always amazed how the Artisan’s were able to build such beautiful buildings hundreds of years. As I watched the firstChâteau., Beaufort, and as with other shadows, they find absolutely beautiful, I am actually moved to tears. Especially the beautiful gardens and I sit here and I tried to imagine who lived in these. What were the people like and their history?
