Polish history VS Russian history

Prof. Andrzej Nowak commented on relations on the Warsaw-Moscow line, referring to his latest book titled. “Russia and Poland. The Neighborhood of Freedom and Despotism X-XXI Century.” In his opinion, “there is no determinant that genetically attributes freedom to the Poles and slavery to the Russians,” however, as he pointed out, there is historical past.

The motto is taken from a Russian poet who disagreed with this imperial system - that was Mikhail Lermontov, the great Romantic Russian poet, who in an early poem of his summarized the essence of this ideology, the essence of this threat we have across our eastern border in this way:

“Let me be a slave, but a slave to the Tsar of the Universe.”
