Really good review and a very interesting choice of a device. The YouTuber has a nice way of presenting, which always gives me a good feeling when seeing his videos. Very well done!

Hi Andrew, You are the best. I was really waiting for someone to do a review on this mini laptop. I bought 3 months ago a device from One, namely Onexplayer 2PRO 32GB ram and 1 TB storage with AMD Ryzen 7840U CPU and magnetic keyboard included. I bought more to use it when I'm away from home (holiday) and I need a tablet to run civil construction rendering programs. This onexplayer 2PRO tablet is a real beast. I didn't know what this version of laptop one netbook 5 is like and taking into account that lately Intel has disappointed, I went for the AMD version. But now that I see you I can really say that it looks good, I'm curious what you think after using it for a longer period of time. Thx for the good review!

Thr OneXPlayer One-Netbook 5: 3-in-1 Mini Laptop is an interesting device because it is ultra portable and that says it all. To be able to take this device with you on the go and not have to worry about a bulky heavy device might be a godsend for some. On that basis alone, this is worthy of anyone's consideration. Thank you Andrew for bringing this device to the channel otherwise people might not even know that it exists! 👍😁

if only this were AMD.. Even 7735 or something. Either way...ive missed this form factor. Cant wait to see more offerings

The fact that this can be used in clamshell mode makes it really interesting and unique. I'd never use a Surface-type 2-in-1 precisely because of how unstable they are on anything but a hard flat surface. Whereas _this_ should be as stable as a laptop. If only it came with an HX 370 or even a 7840...

I love the form factor. The look and finish, the extreme portability without sacrificing ease of setup, it's even got halfway decent port selection in a time when a lot of ultrabooks seem to be dropping down to one USBC port and just expecting you to bring a hub everywhere or use bluetooth for everything.

But why does it seem like all these cool new mechanical designs always get paired with a 2-3 year old processor? I get that this isn't designed as a gaming rig or anything, but there've been some pretty big changes recently in thermal performance and battery life that you can see from the handheld market.

Or, if they give up on being a universal 'only device you need' role and focus on being the best in the ultraportable pseudo-tablet niche, they could switch to Snapdragon and get dramatic improvements to energy in exchange for losing compatibility with some things people probably aren't using it for anyway.

And as you say, it would have been nice to see a higher refresh rate on the screen. If you're operating by mouse and keyboard going above 60 fps has pretty small benefits, but in tablet mode it's very noticeable when the image is a fraction of a second behind your stylus or things you drag aren't quite matching your finger.

I know these are probably pretty small nits to pick, but if the machine is already over a thousand dollars, and you're putting that very nice exterior finish on and packing it with that much RAM and storage, it seems weird to not spend just a little bit more for things that could dramatically improve user experience. And if you're compromising on a few central components like that, it seems weird to pay for top-of-the-line everywhere else instead of making a more budget device overall.

An interesting and useful device, and quite unexpected. It reminds me of the old Sony Vaios that were always experimenting with new and interesting ideas and form factors. Thank you, a lovely review 🌻

First of all, thank you for all your advice. I have a question for you. I am a civil engineer and I love design and creative work. My work also requires me to use a set of engineering programs, and at the same time I love to play games. What is the best windows laptop at the moment that you recommend to me? please help me im confused.

So....a mini surface pro or thinner GPD Win Max 2 without the joysticks.

Any progress on getting the Slimbook Executive 16 in for review? It came out last year so stock might run out by the end of the year.

All good if you can't afford the $2000 price tag or if Slimbook refuses to send you one! 👍

Hi David. Is the cover held onto the top/screen magnetically? Is it easy to pop off and use as a tablet without the keyboard and cover? Thanks

Strange naming but it looks interesting if the keyboard is not too small. Calf leather, though? That is a strange choice and would put me off buying.

Thanks for the review.

Reminds me of my old yoga book with the eink keyboard. Why doesnt this have 2 screens and a removable keyboard with a snapdragon CPU? Am I the only person who still wants a surface neo type device? How hard can it be?

Reminds me of old experimental Sony, love it!!

hahahha, I like leather too Andrew, I like your honest, the whole world is wrong about something.

Back to this device, it is like a mini version one of the Hp elitbook you have reviewed before. That one looks classic neat, I really wish they could sale that one in Australia.

Interesting device. Speakers sounded good. Display refresh rate is okay for this size screen. Great size for airplane travel. Great review.

Really great looking device, I'm partial to larger screens but I can see myself carrying this + a monitor.

I think it would be even more amazing with a snapdragon cpu.

I subscribe to you because you do the best reviews bar none. On a device this small 32g ram and 1 to 2 to ssd is inviting. Is the port selection good enough to run a sim card drive for Internet on the go when traveling or like here in Africa we end up with questionable Internet service!😢
