This concert was in East Germany before the fall of the Berlin Wall. There was a lot of political tension surrounding the concert. Times were changing. It was a huge crowd with 1% of the entire country in the audience. It was broadcast all throughout East Germany and represented tearing down the walls with the west, reunification and peace. She represented the East German/Soviet people and Bruce represented America. It was a dance between two nations that had spent decades on the verge of war!

I’m sure that young woman still remembers dancing on stage and talks about it to her children, and possibly grandchildren.

For now to eternity you will be that girl that danced with a legend.

This was right before the fall of the Berlin Wall. The crowd could almost smell the reunification of their country. The dancing with the girl was so darn wholesome. She probably still talks about it to this day.

Heike Bernhardt, dancing on this video: Heike, whenever you are re-watching this, what I am sure is an absolutely wonderful moment in your life and a moment in time, I hope you are still enjoying it to the bottom of your heart! Thank you not only to Bruce but to you Heike, letting me watch this great performance and feeling so happy that you were on stage, dancing, young, free, beautiful, and yet, somehow still modest. And Heike, age doesn't mean a thing, not in September 21st 2024, we can all still dance to this song with such happiness, joy and fervor. Heike, keep on dancing and enjoying your life to the fullest!!! Let's all try to do the same. No matter what is going on in anyone's life right now: Look for something, Anything you find around your life to feel joyful or happy about!!!

I just smile the whole time Bruce and that adorable German girl dance. She's walking a tightrope half the time between fainting and dancing really well. Bruce helps her up on stage and then takes her hand afterwards to make sure she gets back. Such a cute scene. How can anyone not love it.

The reason he is so loved by millions of fans is because he relates to the average working class in America and all over the world. Love this song . my favorite besides Born in The USA.

Always I will remember this concert of almost 4 hours. Not only joy, also it gave hope and courage to young people in the formerly soviet part of Germany. One and a half year later, we have got our freedom, the "Cold War" was over. Thanks a lot to you, Bruce, for coming to East Berlin in '88 and Happy 75th Birthday to you.

Let's always hope for the best.... The best is in each of us, at the moment we love to make music and take pleasure with this art.... Magnifique Bruce tu nous as apporté beaucoup de ton talent et de ton energie !!§ Merci pour tout ça...

Definely it was East-Berlin 1988. Unbelievable 160, 000 spectators (official number) were there but inofficially the number were higher. It is the biggest concert that Bruce ever gave. I still remember the young lady and especially The Boss. You can also hear at the end of the performance as he is saying the German word "wunderbar" (wonderful)

I have watched this video over and over, it's so amazing, the girl getting up on stage, I wonder what she is doing now, all these years after, how she looks like, I can imagine her old, sitting in a sofa telling the story of this historical moment in life. Bruce Springsteen, you are and will remain a king
