Net Neutrality and the Evolving Internet

Does net neutrality improve or hinder competition? Is it better for the consumer? Proponents of net neutrality claim that unregulated internet providers will unfairly discriminate against competition, thus depriving consumers of choice. But supposed real-world examples of this discrimination appear more complicated upon close scrutiny.
