Lol at Rob thinking an LS is big, imagine if he saw what a Coyote or Hemi looked like

To get that thing up to the power levels of the LS, you definitely have to add forced induction. Once you add all the accessories, mounts, etc. I would imagine weight-wise you’d be pretty close to even on these two engines.

Then you get into cost and reliability, and it really speaks to why the LS is so great.

I mean, it would be nice to see a K series in this comparison too. K series with roots supercharger is my favorite, but I got to imagine that would be somewhere close to 380lbs. Another win for the LS really, when it comes to cost and reliability.

Don't get me wrong, I love the rotary. Thank you Rob for your wonderful channel. Learned a ton by watching your videos :D

You should do an angled front mount and radiator to fill up more of the engine bay, then you can make some ford gt style hood air outlet

I think there is version of front oil pump cover that have engine mounting point up front for rotaries... This will solve your mounting issue for the stock rear engine mount of 13b

I'll take your word for it ;)

380lbs is real light for a V8 tho. I bet displacement per pound the LS is probably near the top of the heap.

rb dahm could never talk me into why rotary is worth the time

I'm thinking balancing the scale on the tire might through off the reading but that's just a guess.

I'm all about this build, but I still don't get the point. It's the MODDED  lighter engine vs a stock heavier engine. I'm not trying to be negative or anything like that. I just honestly don't get it. Just stick a cam in the ls6, throw a premade stand-alone harness/computer on it (in any vehicle you want) and enjoy your 450ish hp and 420ish lb-ft of torque. I mean, LS the world or rotary the world, I really don't care either way. Looking forward to future videos and completed builds.

how many rotors (naturally aspirated) do you need to make the same power as the LS6?

seems to me that if you took a two rotor and then turbo'd it, and then did the same turbo-ing on the LS6 that you'd still be ahead with the LS6?

not really worried about an extra 100lbs on my block when i can make 3 times the hp stock for stock.

Did you know that in the 70's Chevrolet experimented with a mid engined Corvette with a 4 rotor, called the Aerovette?

I measured my g23 Honda Frankenstein motor and the 13b and the g23 have almost the same dimensions but the rotary can rev about 5k more and is probably 50pounds lighter I have been wondering if anyone has ever don't a fwd rotary Honda?
