Aw... I thought the tea-light candle was a nice touch. Even if it wasn't very bright, I think the visual of having a candle inside the pumpkin's mouth was neat little element.

the lighting effects from the paint are so strong that I don't miss the practical tea light at all. maybe a puck light could give a stronger glow and you could try translucent eyes for a future pumpkin, but I like this guy. he's got something

'Tentacles of the botanical world' is not a phrase I expected to hear this Halloween, but I equally hate it and appreciate it. Love the video!

The Lich falls to the ground dead, the long battle has been won. The hero’s breathe a sigh of relief as they stand in the pumpkin patch…but suddenly they watch in horror as the Liche’s ring, its phylactery, falls off of its hand and rolls over to one of the gourds. suddenly the vines of the pumpkin begin growing, twisting and warping…wrapping around the ring. It swells up and you hear a devilish laugh as the pumpkin splits open revealing a gaping fleshy maw filled with bloody teeth. Numerous eyes emerge from the pumpkins skin and gaze out with a sickening glare. The battle is not over…

Another eye was definitely the right choice.
Your botantical texturing is on point but when you said "slightly stabby texture that pumpkin stems have" I was convinced you were going to insert a thousand tiny spikes and that way lies madness. More madness than normal, I mean. Might have been seriously cool madness, but a pita to work around.

What a cute little bumpkin.
Speaking of spooky pumpkins: Today my father plucked a "tree pumpkin" off our plum tree, where it was sprouting 4 meters above the ground.
How did it get up there? Well, my father had bought a melon plant which was grafted onto the trunk of a pumpkin plant. As soon as its pesky little subtenant had died off, it reclaimed control and clutched one of the lower hanging branches of the plum tree. From there on it started climbing the treetop and soon its offspring was hanging around the crown like a hideous Christmas decoration.
It's an ugly pumpkin, bilious green and misshapen. It's sure as hell going to poison my whole family.
