Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich has appeared in a Russia courtroom for his appeal hearing against his pre-trial detention.

The journalist, who is being held at the notorious Lefortovo prison in Moscow, was formally charged with espionage charges last month.

He faces up to 20 years behind bars if convicted.

The Cold War never ended, Russia still held a grudge.

So he went before an actual court and is to receive a trial. It's more than Julian Assange ever got. More than most opposition journalists got in Ukraine as well.

Will the US allow a Chinese journalist conduct investigative journalism around Raytheon if US were to be at war with China? That's the question adolescents should ask themselves before printing nonsense on their screens. Not supporting this, but thinking the US won't act in same way to believe.

Maybe he should've thought of what was to follow before spying. What would happen if it was the other way around?
