This is a FREE complete CCNP 350-401 ENCOR Course. In this video we discuss JSON and why it's important for Network Automation. I'll discuss the theory and then demonstrate some practical examples using a Cisco Nexus device. In the next video I'll demonstrate how to use on-box Python and a local Python script to access JSON data on the Nexus.

I will be covering all the topics in the Cisco CCNP ENCOR exam. I want to make this content practical and it will include a lots of labs and demonstrations to help you better understand topics on the exam.

Thankyou David. The way you explain things, even a layman can understand. You have obtained all this knowledge through a lot of struggle and hardwork and determination, that's why you can explain this so simply. The way you explain this to us is the way you have explained this to yourself when you first learned this. That's y it's so crystal clear.

Many Thanks David! I am triple CCNP and should renew next year. I'm a bit lost on the new Cisco Certifications :-) It is very interesting for me to get the non-traditional content. I have just bough the official cert Book but it was just too dense to start. Your videos encourage me to dive in.

David, once again, you've managed to make another great video!

I have a request / suggestion. Maybe I'm getting a bit ahead of you, you might have something lined up to discuss the consumption plane already? As I've continued my networking journey, I've been introduced to a plane that sits on top of the management plane, control plane and data plane. It's the consumption plane. Since Cisco is adopting the API into their products, which is news to me, it makes sense for you to consider the long view of automation. The consumption plane is the plane that takes a users intent, converts it to an architecture, then converts to implementation of infrastructure to fulfill the users request (API calls). You can probably articulate the idea better than I. I think discussing the consumption plane is a great way to expose your audience to the purpose of an API. JSON and APIs are stepping stones toward broad automation of IT infrastructure. Ideally, network, storage and server engineers setup infrastructure once, end users make demands of infrastructure, infrastructure reconfigurs itself to give the users the applications they want. Network engineers are only called when something breaks. Thought?

Cheers!
