I Bought a Limited Edition GOLD PS2 from eBay...

So I came across this Limited Edition Gold PS2 on eBay a few months ago, and I just knew I had to buy one. You may not be familiar with it, as it was only released in Japan. So this PS2 can only play japanese games. It's one of the coolest consoles I've ever seen though... the PS2 and PS2 controllers are a nice matte gold color.

The Japanese take VERY GOOD CARE of their stuff which is appreciated (and should be the standard worldwide) I've never had anything arrive in less than MINT Condition from Japan (Games of all different Platforms, Art Books, Systems etc.)

the logo at 3:15 means "100"
its the signature decal from a pretty iconic unit in the zeta gundam series called the "hyakushiki"

Didn't knew the PS2 already came out with an optical audio port.

The console btw, is inspired by one mech in the Zeta Gundam series. It is called Hyaku Shiki, hence the Kanji on the PS2 Top side and it's gold color way.

Here's a long and weird story to read:

A few years ago in my area, there was a barber's shop that had a few consoles that sometimes the owner turns on whenever he expects the shop to get super crowded.

One time, I donated a couple of games to his place (Mostly duplicates from my game hunting) and he wanted me to test them so he invited me over to their break area at the back of their shop. Inside, I noticed that he has that golden PS2 on display on his shelf.
I asked him about it but all he could tell me is that it wasn't working and he got it at a thrift store in Japan for about $12.
It was a real mystery to me as to whether or not it was custom made or a real product that got released until today.

Thank you (and I guess the YouTube algorithm?) for solving that mystery.

I still remember the day when I visited my friends house and we played Gran Turismo on his PS2. For some reason playing on real hardware always felt better to me compared to playing on an emulator. Except for those older consoles that are difficult to get nowadays. I love these vids, they keep bringing some good memories back!

The reason i think its colored Gold is not because of Gundam but rather the mobile suit that is Hyaku Shiki (That is manned by the great Quattro Bajeena)
