Just walk around with your shoes off, you'll find that piece _real_ quick.

I hate when stores leave sets in window displays just cooking the plastic.

This is a well known issue with brown and gold plastics in the transformers community it’s called “gold plastic syndrome” it was due to the dyes that where used for brown or gold coloring over time it causes the plastic to breakdown faster

Sets prior to 2009 actually weren’t affected by this. I’ve bought 2 new MTTs and one used and never have had a part break on those. The affected sets were from 09-16, RIP to my UCS Sandcrawler.

I think I took spiritual damage when you called Dooku's Solar Sailer *old*

I wondered why one of the brown pieces from my Slave I snapped a few weeks ago!

I have problems with Jango Fett’s version of Slave 1 from 2002. It easily falls apart when you grab it. I had it stored safely for 20 yrs where it would get damaged and when my daughter turned 21 (she was born in 2002 when it came out) I showed it to her and we built the newer Boba Fett ship (before they got rid of the “Slave I” name) and looked to see the difference in 20 years of design. How more secure Boba’s ship is compared to Jango’s ship.

Had the Slave 1 growing. It was an awesome set. I'm glad I never experienced the brittle issue.

They need to remake that set with the sail

Huh, that’s interesting.
(realizes that I have that 2006 Slave 1 in storage)
Oh no.

The reddish brown pieces were weaker and more fragile than regular bricks because of the dye used for the coloring

They should have heavily discounted that set

I hope Lego puts these old pieces back into production.

Also it’s Slave 1, not Boba Fett’s Starship.

I heard about brown pieces being brittle, but didn't know if it was the old or new. Learned something new. 👍

It's the pigment, happens alot in 3d printing too. Chemically, certain pigments will cause the plastic to not properly bond and will make it brake down faster over time.

I have that ship...and it hasn't broken even after falling thrice.ive found the maroon pieces of the arc starfighter to be more brittle.
