Coalcraker, the townsends, and Corporals corner are kind of my bushcraft, survival, and ancient living kind of trinity right now. all mellow, all informative Love every minute of it. throw in cowboy cooking with Kent and I could be mesmerized all day

I like you.
You show the real stuff...like putting on pajamas. Of all the bushcraft channels i watch, they never put on pajamas, or talk about bugs, or pissn in the night

That's all I want! A quiet place in the woods to call home whenever society gets to be too much.

It was almost shocking to see the plastic bag. When you were talking about being connected to the old frontiersman I understood what you were talking about. Plastic bags are a good example of change that we refer to as progress. I really enjoy your channel Dan. Skills valued more than stuff. Thanks for sharing what you do.

22:00 - if you look just above his head you can see the rotation of what looks to be the rotating blades of a wind-generator.

One of the best parts of camping and just being in nature period is the food. It always seems to taste so much better than when at home. Maybe you just appreciate it more, maybe because it's not super convenient. I'm not sure, but love meal time around the fire.

The Yurt - very practical. A great alternative to a cabin in the woods.
I might prefer a yurt of a larger size but they're great ideas.

At 1:06 I had to chuckle a little when you said, "But right now, we're going out to check some traps that I laid out "tomorrow"." If you laid the out tomorrow, does that mean you are a time traveler? LOL It reminded me of a friend of ours (now deceased) who would say, "day after yesterday", when he actually meant to say "day before yesterday".

Great video, new subscriber! The Townsends brought me here. As to lanterns, I've used the same type you have, not to happy with the mantle and all. For traditional I much prefer the kerosene/lamp oil style with the adjustable wick. Problem is not too portable with the glass chimney, but some railroad style have the cage around the glass. Definitely my go to light (and some heat) source for emergency at home prep.

I assume we are talking about Anthracite rather than bituminous coal (RE: Coalcracker). That and the ‘Foodtown’ bag says NEPA to me. Great video. Very nice traditional gear, and I like the yurt.
