Very interesting. No way will a 'human in the loop' rule survive a major conflict with a peer adversary; Unless in extremis the human input degrades into something like 'kill everything close to us that isn't us'

A good job. I'd add that deep learning [the primary underlying tech for AI] is just a clever way to learn mappings from inputs to outputs; It's all just number crunching. An intelligent machine will likely need generalised intelligence, transferable knowledge . There's not much of that going on right now.

If you're going to discuss military application of AI and autonomous systems then you need to talk about *ALL* domains of warfare! Land, Sea, Air, Space, and Cyberspace. Autonomous ships and underwater vehicles will have a significant role in the battlespace. Autonomous cyber weapons are a real thing, look at how powerful Stuxnet was, and that was early 2000's malicious code! Recommend Jane's hire senior editors to ensure these topics are fully deconstructed before presentation or publication.
