I had the first generation naga. I used it in a FPS game, but just like you, I only used a few buttons. The 12 side buttons make sense in MMO like for example, World of Warcraft, where you can bind skills. In WoW, by default, have 12 floating buttons on screen, which you can map/bind to your naga side buttons.

This new version is much better looking and side buttons are bigger. The first generation had tiny buttons and recessed. Had to put dimples on buttons that I use.

The Razer Naga Hex is what you're looking for: It only has macro button and a thumb rest in the middle

They do have a 6 button version, its called the "hex"

Naga 2014 is superior because of mechanical buttons and scroll wheel.

Logitech G600 is superior because of third mouse button, warranty, and reliability.

Love the feel of the naga but it died in 6 months. Now I have logitech and I feel I sacrificed performance for reliability.

Bind only keys 7-12 and you can have your relaxed position

I have the 2012 cataclysm edition. I like it, but the buttons on my one aren't great. But I love having lots of buttons. I agree with you that there should be 6 key version of this. The Naga Hex covers it, but the mouse itself looks ugly.

Can someone help? I just got the naga and by some weird reason only the nr. 1, 3, 7, 9, 10 and 12th side button works. The others won't work at all, in the razor synapse thingy it obviously detect all the buttons, and I can change what each button does, but still only half of them works...???

I wish it had sniper buttons or the ability to change DPI settings on individual buttons, that would make this mouse more flexible.
