In my case, the solution seems to have been to limit the number of processor cores that should be active to 8 in msconfig.

For those on pc theres pc fixes mod. I havent crashed since and I even got to bump up my graphics settings. Dont believe the as kissers sucking off the devs for a crap optimized game. Devs dont want to fix the game but thank god buddah whatever they believe for modders.
