Reviewing the 2018 BMW 328d xDrive sedan. A service loaner for my i3 meant I was able to try the diesel 328d for an extended period, including a short highway trip to the DC suburbs. Is it worth it over a gas model? Watch and find out.

I have a 2014 328d XDrive with 93K on it and it’s been spectacular!...Gets better Highway MPG than my sisters Prius, puts out less pollution, (yes, it uses urea fluid) is great in the snow and most importantly, drives & handles like a BMW!...It’s sad that the Lithium-Ion battery brigade has vilified highly refined and efficient diesel technology only to present us with the much more toxic environmental issue of battery disposal and the irreversible contamination threat to our ground water...That all being said, It’s a pretty great car! 👍😉

I can't find anything, even on BMW's website, wether they put the B47 Diesel engine in the US model. With the 2015 LCI models, BMW launched the B47 which replaced the old N47. Until that point the 328d used to have this type of engine. Can anyone help?

Excellent video! TOTALLY agree with you on the annoying red turn signals...you’re one of the very few reviewers that mention these minor yet incredibly annoying pet peeves! VW does it too, until recently started switching over to amber on some of their newer models. ANOTHER HUGE pet peeve of mine is how ALL BMWs lack Remote Start as an option. If a $25, 000 Jetta can have it, so can a $50, 000 BMW. Especially with automakers like Nissan and Chevy allowing you to start cars from your own phone. Love that beautiful beige interior. Great video.

I just bought a used 328d. Got it for a fantastic price. I appreciate this video to help familiarize me on some features. Do you still have this car?

My 2016 328d has been flawless over 6000 miles I've owned it.
My 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe has a proximity key that never required me to touch the fob. It also had heated seating.
This BMW has a back up camera but a few Mercedes and BMWs I looked at did not.
I like the 32 MPG city driving fuel use. I think I got a good one.

Hello, I live in Canada. Toronto. I found a diesel car at 197, 000 km. How much is the maintenance cost? Can I ride up to 350, 000 kilometers without any problems? I will do 200 kilometers every day.

so if you pull the hood latch twice while driving, you will get a face full of hood eh?

Nice car but The problem with these is direct injection - they need an expensive walnut blast to clean out carbon deposits ... not sure if they fixed this issue on more recent ones

Engine power of 328d in USA = 320d in Europe. European 325d (2L twin turbo) have 223hp.

Nice review, thanks. U might think about upgrading your camera if you’re into reviews.

How are diesel gas prices? I see really good lease deals on this model and am wondering what’s the catch? Is diesel gas hard to find in the USA? I think I see them at most gas stations but not sure.

Lovely video! That looks like a nice drive. A good diesel engine shouldn't clatter too much or run the often stereotyped irregular way (rr-rr-rr) but actually nice and constant in RPM. They do have a rather pronounced combustion sound and more vibration at low RPM. I used to think I didn't like them but through owning several German Diesel cars, started to appreciate the torque and ease.
