I wish you luck. I am a US Sailing cruising instructor. So have taught hundreds of people to go cruising. Looks like you are on your way! Actually there are a good number of boats in the eastern Caribbean for sale. This is often a palace where people say “ ok, this was fun, time to move on”. Also people “age out” and are ready for a change. Some boats sit a long time. This is very bad for them. You will find a lot of work. Everything tired and ready to break if it’s not already. The Nicholson is a nice boat IF, IF it has been cared for. The good news is there are a lot of boats in and around Grenada, Trinidad area. Great cruising grounds. Lots of cruising community there. I spent a number of years in this area. Enjoy, and I will watch!
PS. If you do decide that you want to go to Trinidad to look further, you can probably get a crew position of someone going there. Definitely bring a good hand held VHF with you. There is a cruisers net every morning. Channel 66 and 84 international. Also a facebook group. You can get LOTS of info on it.

Every boat in existence has a sell price. That's exactly what happened to my previous three boats. For every boat out there there’s a story that needs to be told. It may very well be a story you don't want to hear. You will get shot down many times when trying to buy a used boat. I need to feel a connection to make a purchase. Just purchased my fourth used boat. The latest hole in the water to pour money into.

Grenada, W.I. What a place to get your first boat. Spent some wonderful times there in 2010 with all the expats down at Clarks Court before the redevelopment.. Say hi to Roger at Hog Island. Plenty of cheap boats there if you know where to look. Good luck. Fair Winds.
