Quarantine - Justin Hurwitz - cover by Randy George - theremin

Here is one of the rare works from a motion picture score that prominently features the theremin. Quarantine, composed by Justin Hurwitz, is a track from the film score to First Man, directed by Damien Chazelle, starring Ryan Gosling and Claire Foy.

In case you have been waiting for years to hear what progress I’ve made with the theremin… the wait is over. In upcoming videos I’ll have a lot more technology to share, but I’ll keep it simple for now with this theremin and modeled harp duet.

Randy, this was so beautiful :-) you manage to make the theremin sound like a voice and a mixture of an alien all in one. Your delivery was seductively eerie but at the same time evocative, melancholic and hopeful. I appreciated and loved every second of it.
