Appreciate this as a new masters sprinter, I need to amend my depth drops to just landing on the balls of my feet not flat footed.

I get confused about this is.
Doesn’t the ankle have to dorsiflex to load up the Achilles tendon to use the reactive bounce to propel us forward?
I’ve understood stiff ankles to mean more like stiff feet that stay primarily on the balls, rather collapsing to full foot contact with the ground & the related energy loss / absorption…. Have I hot it all wrong?
