Made my day learning Perkins is coming back!! Let's FREAKING GEAUX 💜 💛

LSU is definitely better with Harold Perkins. Anyone who doesn’t see that hasn’t been paying attention. Perkins was a 1st team All SEC selection as a true freshman. Do you know how hard that is? That means he was one of the 2 or 3 best LBs in the SEC as a true freshman. He was a freshman All American. His sophomore year he was 2nd team All SEC. And when Perkins came to LSU from HS he was a RB. He was the number 1 rated RB in the state of Texas. 5star. He was born in New Orleans and his family was displaced by hurricane Katrina. That’s why he was raised in Texas. His family just stayed. But Perkins knew where he roots were so he came home to LSU. To say his first 2 years weren’t successful is nuts. 2 All Conferance teams a 1st and a 2nd Freshman All American. His first 2 years weren’t successful very successful. 26 tfls total in his first 2 years weren’t 26 TFL’s!!! 13 sacks!! 8 forced fumbles. All in 2 seasons. He is a freaky athlete. He is 6’1’’ 225 lbs. I. Would let Perkins play MLB on 1st and second down and play on the edge on obvious passing downs. He is an edge rusher. But he has other talents. He reminds me of Hassan Reddick. Reddick and Perkins are basically the same size. Reddick is 6’1’’ 240 lbs. all Perkins needs to do is gain 25 pounds of muscle and he is Hassan Reddick. Reddick is small for an edge rusher but it doesn’t matter he is one of the best over the last decade. Steelers edge rusher Nic Herbig out of Wisconsin is 6’2’’ 235. He is an edge rusher and a good one. You can win on the edge in various ways. You can win with size and power and go through offensive tackles or you can win with speed and quickness. Perkins and Reddick while stong as a horse win with speed and quickness. But say Reddick is going against Bengals RT Amarius Mims who is 6’8’’ 342 lbs. Reddick is not overpowering Mims. He is not going through him. His only chance against someone that big is to go around them. Although Mims is a freaky athlete in his own right bevaue for someone so big he is quick and runs a 5.01 40 yard dash so Reddick would have a very long day going against him.

I’m happy to have him back no doubt.

I believe we just need to adjust expectations on how he will impact our defense.

Harold Perkins is a QB heat seeking 🚀. You could have no better defense for a mobile QB. Geaux Tigers

I’d love for Perk to have a great year.

Man, put Perkules at the Star position, he can affect so many aspects of game. It’s not complicated, stop making it difficult, passing situation just blitz him, he’s so fast delayed blitzes would be very effective not just off the edge, but letting him pick a gap with delayed blitzes. Whoever thinks our defense is better without Perkules don’t know ball and should keep their asinine comments to themselves. #LSU🐅

Other good news, big win in the portal with Josh Thompson, really sures up the interior of the offensive line.

Doubters should ask themselves this question: who in the portal is equal or better than Perkins? (Hint: answer is less than one)

LETS GEAUX ! You nailed everything on the head Matt.
STAR (Nickel/Sam LB) is the most transferable position for him to the NFL as he is too small in weight to be an ILB or a full time pass rusher. He could even go back down in weight to 210-215 lbs to perhaps get some speed back while still maintaining a build suitable for a hybrid LB/SS role that can be effective in run support, coverage as well as rushing the passer. He can do all 3 from the Slot.

Blake Baker will be able to deploy an old school 4-3 defense with 4-2-5 principles with Perk coming back.

If they use him correctly, we are definitely a better Defense. Let's see what they do .

I think he made a great business decision. Coming back for one more season will only help his draft stock especially if LSU has a great season next year. Weeks & Perkins at LB 🔥🔥🔥

Bad take about Perk's effectiveness in the games he played at LB. If you watch the game film, it's obvious he wasn't ready to be a LB. Out of position a ton. Needs to play that star role or trim back down and play him at Safety. His speed, ball skills, and ability to come up in run support and blitz as a safety would be dirty
