I can now, thankyou very much. I've been learning fp1 over the summer, and when it was talking about similar triangles, I didn't get it. This clearly explains what to do, thankyou.

could i do this in a different way? as in i would find the eqn of the straight line, set it equal to zero and then solve for x which would be the approximation, instead of the similar triangle method?
