LIVE: Kamala Harris Faces Hecklers During Star-Studded Charlotte, North Carolina Rally | US Elections | Trump | CNBC TV18
Kamala Harris has just been back on stage again, this time in Charlotte, North Carolina. She headlined a star-studded campaign event in the Old North State, which is considered among the key battlegrounds for the election.
Rockstar Jon Bon Jovi and R&B singer Khalid both performed for the crowd, while actress Kerry Washington was also among the speakers.
"One of the reasons we are here is because we are fighting for a democracy, and the right of people to speak their mind," she says.
The vice president was then briefly interrupted by protesters who oppose US support for Israel's war in Gaza.
"It's alright, y'all," she responded. "Democracy can be complicated. This is what democracy looks like."
"We all want that war in the Middle East to end," she continued. "We want the hostages home. When I am president, I'll do everything in my power it make it so."
In her closing remarks, she tells the crowd to "talk to your friends, your family, and your neighbours" before Tuesday.
