I have a Fenix 7X. I commonly do strength training activities and the Garmin's ability to identify what kind of reps I'm doing is uncanny. I love it.

One year later and some software updates later and this video is STILL SO HELPFUL. Thanks DC!

You understand this stuff well and explain it straightforwardly. Your videos and reviews are a fantastic resource that doesn't exist elsewhere. Keep up the good work. (I've just got the 51mm and am very happy with it.)

Thanks for sharing the ins and outs of the Epix. I recently switched from Vivoactive to Epix and it's a whole different situation. Your vids and site are always helpful.

Thank you very much for your content and this video.

I watched your guide on Epix VS Fenix and it really helped me alot in my choice.
I was set on buying a Fenix solar sapphire but a friend of my wife suggested Epix instead (her fiance works at Garmin) and i had never Even heard about it.
It lead me to your video and my final decision to choose Epix.

I just got my Epix pro sapphire 51mm some hours ago and this video helps me ALOT. (I’m totally new to Garmin)

Thank you so much for your content

Thanks, I just upgraded from a FR935 (which I bought some years ago as the tri-bundle after watching your video) to the EPIX pro sapphire last week and even though I figured out most of the unfamiliar features already, I am following your video for functions that I may have missed (like long-pressing the back-button for this quick-menu).. when you explained the weather widget overlay, after zooming in my map looked exactly like yours.. I moved to NL about 18 years ago and we're probably not much more than 10km apart. ]anyways, thanks for all your efforts with those videos, they're really useful!

I have the Fenix 6 pro, Good watch, but fiddly with navigating the features with buttons. The display was not my favourite. I have now ordered the 51mm Epix pro 2 mainly for touch screen, bright display. The extra functions will be great when I can figure it out.

The fact videos like these are needed is why Apple Watch is king. 4 layers deep to just see when it is going to rain and taking 20 clicks to get there.
This video is great and the watch is great. But leaving the Apple ecosystem for the first time in 20 years… it is a wasteland of bad UI out there and Garmin is actually not bad. Like changing data displayed on the watch face, it is just an icon and for some you have no idea what they are. The only way to find out is to google it and watch a YouTube video.

But I have to say, during the sport activity Garmin is king. Running with both Apple Watch and epix pro, I almost never looked on my Apple Watch. Plus the Apple Watch is heavy and clunky on the wrist vs epix pro, and not to mention the battery life. It is great for tracking the actual activities. It is not so great at being a smartwatch.

Red Shift Mode is great. It prevents your eyes at night from become light sensitive again after they have adjusted to the darkness (which takes about 10 Mins.)

I noticed that you mentioned that the Epix won't keep its display on when mounted on a bike stem. I hope Garmin creates a setting to keep the display on in bike ride sport mode. My next Garmin watch might be an Epix instead of a Fenix due to the display. But if I can't use on a bike stem during a ride it doesn't make sense for me.

@22:52 Inline Skating is nowhere to be found on the Epix Pro 😢. I think is a bug or something, I saw that other users are also complaining about this on Garmin forums. Great video

I own a Epix Pro Gen 2 for 4 months now, I had to return it for the second time because the back/lap button was taking action on it self without being pressed. Does anybode had this issue also?

Thanks for the content. Do you know if there is a way to stop the display from dimming, at least on rides. I'm finding it hard to see when dimmed so I end up pressing the a button every 30sec so I can see the data.

Hi, I have been deliberating between a Garmin and Apple Watch for sometime, and eventually decided with a Garmin Epix 2. I am more informed how to navigate my way round the interface having watched your video, so thanks very much. Is the watch face you use in epix pro obtained from Garmin connect iq?

Love the review videos Ray. Just need to decide whether the 965, 955, Epix, Epix pro or Fenix 7 is worth upgrading to from my 945!!

Any chance to see Endurance Score and Hill Score on the Fenix 6? Or should we rule out new features for such old devices?

Acc. to my experience Garmin still has a bad sleep stage tracking. And if that goes into body battery, training readiness etc. etc. those data are misleading. Do you agree?
