In this short, we use our quantum catapult to attempt to fend off an unbidden invasion. We also test out the quantum catapults powerup with astral threads from the new astral planes DLC.

Nothing quite like a good old suicide rush.

Although the quantum catapults gives extra attack boosts to your recently catapulted ships I found it ineffective against strong opponents as our shipswould be spread randomly and unpredictably in the target area and would be vulnerable when a doom stack would be more effective

Took too late to jump as they constructed these anchors.
Last game I literally airdropped my whole fleet on them 10 days after the invasion, blitz-krieged the portal before they made their anchors and that was it.

Also anchors provide 50% shield hardening for fleets in the system (!!!)
This turned out a nasty surprise to a lot of people.

Meanwhile here I am on 25x crisis just waiting for my time to die from the crisis that spawned half a galaxy away

I really hope that devs will add a way to select an order in which crises appear. For me it seems strange that intra-galaxy threat like contingency or refugees like prethoryn can be stronger than interdimensional unbidden. If anything, unbidden should be like blokkats in terms of strength or even more powerful.

This why I build missiles. Passes through any shielding doing damage to hull and armor. Good against most AI.

Honestly the only reason why I mangaged to beat The Unbidden 3.5(I know it's not that much but it's still ass when you have problem to get alloys) is because I reworked all of my ships to combat theirs. Like A fleet of two titans and four battleships managed to take down most of the stations and few anchors by simply being out of range

Couple days ago I was expanding my borders and fighting my neighbours, you know the usual. Then I forced a status quo (was fighting a 2 front war with my fleets divided) then as soon as the 16 year war ended. The unbidden spawned and started taking systems on the other side of the galaxy, then they started attacking my neighbours their fleets weakened from our war, I was safe until they started getting dangerously close to my home system then I ordered all my fleets to push the unbidden out of my neighbours territory. I took it slow at first taking out their stations and destroying single fleets, until I saw 2 unbidden 80 k fleets with a 30k station isolated I thought my 5 fleets of 80ks could catch them out and they did but the main unbidden fleet was a couple systems away 3 more 80ks and a 200k
While my fleets were engaged I wasn’t paying attention then the main unbidden fleet arrived and turned was what suppose to be a small system skirmish turned into a decisive battle that would allow the unbidden complete control of my neighbours system. I paused the game as soon the main unbidden fleet arrive and I contemplated retreating, but I decided to fight on because I couldn’t let them touch my holy system! I unpaused and watched what was a small battle turn into a blood bath, at first it looked like the unbidden were gonna decimate my fleets then I saw my fleets were just melting their shields (I invested a lot into kinetic weapons) but my fleets were still taking massive casualties, then my fleets started destroying the unbidden fleets 1 by 1 then the last 2 unbidden fleets retreated… it ended as quickly as it began my fleets were battered and almost every corvette, frigate and destroyer were lost, and I only lost 1 battle ship and 2 cruisers. It was my empires most deadliest battle to date, I call it the great battle of addib (I think that was the name of the system) I gave all my admirals that participated in that battle the title of shipmaster (from halo lol)
It’s been 40 years since that battle and now tensions are heating up between me and my long time ally. Time for another meat grinder?

When i first played stellaris and seen Quantapult in the list of available options i was so exited.
What happened next were the worst disappointment in my life.

I like to go with the zap brannigan doctrine when playing I make fast produced corvettes and throw wave after wave of my own men at them lol I also don’t know how to best organize fleets yet but I’m learning lmao

A better strategy for me is to steady progress inwards into enemy space regions while maintaining a backup fleet near the quantum for cleanup operations or acting as a support element for a fleet that is branching off possibly getting surprised attacked by 2 or 3 enemy fleets.

I wish there was a way to upgrade the catapult and give it more accuracy. Could have it need to cooldown before use again or risk of exploding due to power draw or something in order to balance it out

Once you let them get through, it is over for good

Ive never had a mid crisis do anything yet. I mean maybe thats on me i always focus research for military and having a large army on standby at all times so ill take out anything thay appears near me and than the galaxy just gangs up on the other areas

Why you need all of them? 50k Missile corvette fleet can take down 250k unbidden fleet without causalities.

I’m playing slingshot into the stars devouring storm. It’s mid game and I have 4 catapults across the “eastern” half of galaxy there is no escape from the swarm

Well obviously your fleets were no match lol, why do you only have like 200k fleet power at the end of the game?

Yo what designs did you use for those fleets? Seems like just hangar battleships?
