Building a Gigantic Supertanker | China's Mega Projects | FD Engineering

The historic Jiangnan Shipyard moved away from the banks of the Huangpu River and its original site became the World Expo 2010 site. Today, China has become an important member of the world's shipbuilding powerhouse, and more and more huge ships of 10,000 tons will be sailing from here to all over the world.

The facts alone are fascinating. No music is needed.

I got to about 10 minutes in and had to give up because of the annoying loud "music". Serves no purpose.

Why so much drama? Pathetic script for such good content. Just tell us how they built it.

And to think there was a time when people did this without computers 😮

The first oceangoing liquified natural gas tanker in the world was Methane Pioneer, which entered service in 1959

I made it 8 minutes in.
Way too loud music.

I wanted to watch and listen to a documentary. The added music competing with the narration spoiled it.

Was there supposed to be narration? All I heard was annoying noise that was some idiots idea of music.

Why doesn't the crane operator have a live cam at the base of the tower??

Good vid/narration, but the music was too loud and annoying and you couldn't hear the narrator well.

The subtitles are really bad, white text often on light coloured backgrounds making them hard to read.

I asked chatgpt how many tanker truck can be filled with the oil from the supertanker

A typical tanker truck used for fuel transport can carry around 30, 000 to 35, 000 liters of fuel. In contrast, a supertanker ship can carry millions of liters of oil, typically ranging from 300, 000 to 2 million liters per tanker, depending on its size and capacity.

Assuming an average supertanker capacity of 1.5 million liters and a tanker truck capacity of 32, 500 liters, you could fill approximately 46 tanker trucks with the oil from a single supertanker shipment. Keep in mind that these are rough estimates, and actual capacities can vary based on specific tanker models and ship sizes.

Damnit I really really enjoy you videos, but maybe just music as a intro. I still like your videos just very distracting. Cheers

That thing can carry roughly 85 metric tons of LNG !! I wonder what is the gross weight of a fully loaded ship and empty ship too.

Getting tired of the sensationalism of "small mistakes". Need less drama and more education about the grandeur and awesomeness of mega projects.

"In any system of energy, Control is what consumes energy the most.
Time taken in stocking energy to build an energy system, adding to it the time taken in building the system will always be longer than the entire useful lifetime of the system.
No energy store holds enough energy to extract an amount of energy equal to the total energy it stores.
No system of energy can deliver sum useful energy in excess of the total energy put into constructing it.
This universal truth applies to all systems.
Energy, like time, flows from past to future"(2017).

I had to stop watching this otherwise good documentary due to the very annoying loud music.

0:41???? Posting nonsense like this is very childish. Liquid Gas cannot explode as it is impossible for air to penetrate those tanks while full and those same tanks are filled with CO2 when empty. At that point you lost my attention.
