Holland Roden Acknowledges Arden Cho's Tough Choice to Walk Away From Teen Wolf Movie | toofab

Holland Roden is excited to return to Beacon Hills for the new Teen Wolf Movie despite the absence of her former castmates like Arden Cho and Dylan O'Brien. The 35-year-old actress commented on Cho's recent interview with the Cut where the 36-year-old revealed she had turned down the new Teen Wolf project after she was offered significantly less than her counterparts as the only woman of color on the cast.
While promoting her new movie "Obsessed to Death" with Tubi, Roden regretted Cho's absence and spoke about how the actress was put in between a rock and a hard place. Roden also gushed about the sense of family she was able to feel once she had reunited with the cast that she had grown up with while filming the Teen Wolf movie.In "Obsessed to Death," Holland plays an unhinged woman named Cassie who appears "plain and unpolished on the outside," but hides a dark past that resulted in everyone in her hometown calling her a psychopath. Cassie leaves her town and follows a man into a new city after he ghosts her. She then finds Summer, the woman her past flame had ghosted her for, and everything becomes irrelevant when she becomes obsessed with becoming her best friend and becomes a copy of her. Cassie jumps through numerous hoops to worm her way into Summer's inner circle but Cassie's violent tendencies began to hurt those around Summer and almost Summer herself.

She's a woman who works in the entertainment industry. She knows about the wage disparity between men and women and actors of color. I don't understand how she can't understand why Arden would take a stand on this. Especially now.

Her character of Kira was unceremoniously written out. Remember how excited Arden was to return for the next season, only to find out later her character's arc was finished? She made a video about it for her fans. Why get testy about her not returning for the movie then? As a POC paid less with a character that was not able to be fully fleshed out, I wouldn't return either. There would be no point. She's on to bigger and brighter things. Can't wait to watch Arden in her new Netflix show!

This was such a pathetic thing to say. She was offered half of what you are getting but you are minimizing the insult and implying that she does not “love” Teen Wolf. I don't think people realise Arden was only meant to be on set for around two weeks max... compared to the months that Tyler, Holland, Shelley etc were meant to be on set. That's why she was paid less. But I totally understand why she declined the movie, money is money and she probably just wanted to focus on other things

I don’t understand how people think there is a wage discrepancy. It’s all about who brings the viewers. Alison was always endgame. Scott and Alison were so cute, first loves and when Cho’s character came along it felt like a rebound. This is how Hollywood works. The actors that get people to watch get paid the most. It’s not a conspiracy
