2 tbsp gochujang (korean chili paste)
2 tbsp gochugaru (korean chili powder)
1 1/2 tbsp monkfruit sweetener
2 tbsp water
2 sheets odeng (fish cakes)
150g tteok (korean rice cakes)
8-9 chives

Recipe:
1. Make the paste by adding 2 tbsp gochujang 2 tbsp gochugaru, 1 1/2 tbsp monkfruit sweetener + 2 tbsp water
2. Prep the chicken, odeng, and chives
3. Into a pot add the dry ingredients (chicken first)
4. After chicken is done cooking, add in odeng and rice cakes along with 1 cup of water
5. Put in paste once water starts to boil
6. Cook for 5 mins and there it is!

I add a boiled egg for more protein and it tastes really good with tteobokki!

You should add in some cabbage too! It’s a good way to get more veggies in and probably not too much calories. Napa cabbage is popular to add in.

Add a hardboiled egg and cook with some broth instead of water and oh my goodness good.

I use trader Joe's cauliflower gnocchi for the rice cake texture. Lower carbs.

Love this! I've had an unopened pack of Tteok in my fridge for weeks because I'm nervous to eat so many carbs and hadn't found the right recipe yet. I'm making it today with chicken, onion, cabbage, maybe some french green beans and a soft boiled egg or maybe fried (I don't feel bad about Miyoko's vegan better ever haha). I'll definitely check out your other recipes as I LOVE Korean food. EDIT: You have many different recipes, Japanese, Filipino, etc. Even better!

Thanks for sharing all those recipe alternatives :) I know that some tteokbokki package recommend that we wash the tteokbokki from the conservative thingy before and sometimes even soak them in water. Maybe it changes from one package to another but just wanted to point it out :) (The first time I made tteokbokki, there was an awful taste because I didn’t wash them properly haha…)
