"Cara Mia/ Innamorata" - Michael Mott

I have always been a romantic at heart. Ever since I could remember, I have been drawn to emotional love ballads centered around love, loss and yearning. Big, lush vocals and stirring passionate music have consistently been the balm for this romantic sap. Growing up, I was enthralled with the studio versions of "Cara Mia" written by Tulio Trapani and Lee Lange, made famous by Jay and the Americans as well as "Innamorata," written by Harry Warren and Jack Brooks, made famous by the incomparable Dean Martin. In 2019, I sat down at the piano and began to play through both of these iconic songs and quickly realized how easily they could be put together. After I created my mash-up, I reached out to musical director, Andy Collopy, to orchestrate for an upcoming live concert later that year. We debuted the piece and the audience response was overwhelming. It has since become a staple in all of my live shows! Over the pandemic, my glorious band recorded their parts from home and my wonderful producer, Rich Matthew, put everything together, adding some additional orchestral elements and the rest is history. Thank you for continuing to support me on my musical journey. I hope "Cara Mia/ Innamorata" is the balm for every romantic either in-love or searching for it. 🌹

Michael, another beautiful song with a voice I did not know you had. You can tell you are a romantic with you voice, the flowers the sad ending. Sad but so beautiful at the same time.
