A Beautifully moving song...in the fine tradition of the beloved European Troubadours!

Many (not all, of course...) of those young British Rockers (and Mods) - were eager to rebuild their world after the devastating 2nd world war...They brought an imaginative, mesmerizing, theatrical showmanship and artistic poetry in their own unique presentations of 20th Century American music forms. They created something more beautiful🎉

The British Musical Invasion (of the 1960s & early 1970s) was truly necessary. Some of their more idealistic musicians invented a memorable transfiguration of what was once: separately competing elements of American music:
country, blues, and rhythmic beat frenzy. (Which is why the blended, stylized art of the British songsters is still so admired now... )

Poignant love songs are never silly because love is not silly.

As a poet (Edna St Vincent Millay) once wrote: "People are making friends with death for want of love alone."

Keep hope and a beautiful song in your hearts & minds, friends...+❤

Great song and well sung. Not like the rubbish repetitive meaningless BOMM BOOM BANG BOOM thump you get today.

Linking this tune to other songs considering that a reunion of once united sovereign territories was a failure makes one (or some) drink whiskey from time to time.
