Ingredients:
Meat
1 cup yellow moong dal
1 kg mutton
2 small sliced onion
1 tbsp garlic paste
1 tbsp ginger paste
1 ½ tsp red chili
1 ½ tsp coriander
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp garam masala
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp cooking oil
3 tbsp cooking oil
1 bay leaf
3 tbsp yogurt
1 ½ cup hot water
Rice
2 tbsp cooking oil
10 pepper
¼ cup onion
4 cardamom
2 small sticks
3 cloves
¼ cup onion
1 bay leaf
2 cups-soaked basmati rice
4 cups boiling water
1 tsp salt
4 green chilies
1 tbsp fried onions
Instructions:
1. Fry moong dal in dry heat for 2 minutes on medium-high heat
2. Transfer dal to a bowl and pour water over to soak for 30 minutes
3. Coat the meat with sliced onion, garlic and ginger paste, red chili, coriander, turmeric, cumin, garam masala, salt and cooking oil
4. Saran wrap and marinate for 20 minutes
5. Drizzle cooking oil in pan and sauté the marinated meat with bay leaf on high heat
6. Cover with lid and cook for 15 minutes on low-medium heat while stirring occasionally
7. Add yogurt and hot water then cover with lid to cook until tender
8. Add cooking oil in a large pot, add pepper, onion, cardamom, small sticks, cloves, bay leaf, soaked basmati rice and moong dal
9. Fry for 2 minutes
10. Pour water and salt to taste
11. Cook for 10 minutes on the lowest heat
12. Add meat to the rice
13. Add green chilies and fried onions
14. Gently mix before serving
15. Ready to enjoy!
