Naturally aspirated or turbocharged is a question that often divides the motoring world, so in this instalment of Stig’s Garage, we have two German sports cars that both make 395bhp to battle it out on the Top Gear test track. The 718 Cayman GTS has a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six and a 6-speed manual gearbox. Its contender, the TT RS, has a 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder under the bonnet. Becky reckons the Cayman is more of a driver's car but also knows the Audi has all the mechanical grip and power to take on the Porsche. Time for Becky Evans to make her predictions and let the Stig do what the Stig does best. What's your money on?

Lose the ridiculous music during the laps.. is the video editor even a car enthusiast? People want to hear the cars.. this should be obvious

"Don't know if the 718 has what it takes to take on the TT"... said no one ever until this episode.

I'm surprised that she was surprised that the Cayman is faster around a tight track than the TT.

The Audi just looked like it was under steering at every corner. The Porsche you could see he was balancing the rear and looked faster.

Why aren‘t you comparing the 4.0 GTS with the PDK to the Audi? The PDK makes that car even faster!

Wait who thought the Porsche wasn’t better than the Audi in the first place, I’m confused. The 718 comes in a GT4, what are we talking about here…..

We all knew the cayman was gonna be faster.
Except the presenter.
"I'm gonna pick the awd understeer monster over the mid-engine porsche " 🤔

I'm confused on why she thought that Audi was going to beat the Porsche

I know this horse has been beat to death many times over, but it is honestly hilarious watching that Audi understeer all over the place. I rewound that tight bit around the tires three times, it was cracking me up watching him wrench the wheel and push straight on. It’s like an elephant taking up ballet.

Good comparison. As sublime as the manual is in the Cayman if the Cayman had the PDK like the Audi did the win would have been much larger I bet.

For me it’s better car the TTRS is Quattro and faster! Better sound and more beautiful!!!

Understeer in the Audi looked typically horrendous

And no-one ever drives at 9/10ths on the road. Who would notice 1.4 seconds faster driving to the bloody co-op on our shitty overcrowded roads? Add some snow, potholes, cow shit, gravel, bicyclists, death-wish scooter riding pensioners, and all you have left is the quality of the ride (Audi wins) its practically (Audi wins) its service costs (Audi easily wins) cabin luxury (Audi wins). Oh, and they both go bloody fast if you get the chance.

The TT oversteer on the brakes but at the moment he releases it it understeer. And it only goes straight under power. So slow braking, slow mid turn, slow exit

I was surprised by the fact that she was surprised by the Cayman's lap time. The mid-engined balance will obviously prove helpful on a track plus if it'd been a sunny day and if the car came with PCCB, the Porsche would've been quicker still.

I'm not surprised the Stig went faster in the manual, he gets to pick and choose the gear and balance the entry and exit based on throttle input. If he had used the paddle shifters I'm sure he would have been able to get a faster time. That being said I don't really mind that he left it in sport and just let the car pick the gears for him. Still a decent lap time in the end.

A ‘D’ for dry. No damp. No drift. No disqualified.

It goes without saying that Audi's have no soul, they never have, they're just the fastest way to be bored....

Side note: I like this Lady, she's not trying to be something.
Get her on the main show along with Jack and Chris and it'd be a million times better than watching those other 2 clueless try hards.
