My school in Germany for example didn't allow to use tablets regularly for some activities yes but not very commonly we're also not allowed to have our phones

german here, I HAD to get an ipad (specifically) for school. it was our property and actually went against the privacy laws when teachers were allowed to look on our screens through their tablet at all times without us actually knowing. and block certain apps individually. if you didn't have an ipad, you were pretty much stranded and couldn't work

In America, at my school everything is becoming digital so a students are provided a laptop/chromebook in class for assignments.

In our school, we have wifi but only for the teachers. Fortunately im in one of the best schools in our pretty big city, so some people hacked into the wifi and gave everyone the password

The German girl speaking would’ve DEFINITELY been dress coded at the public schools in my area, they’re super strict on low cut, spaghetti straps etc.

In Vietnam, my sister's kids the first thing they want after school is smartphone to watch cartoon or toktok. So i think, there is no phone in school for kids under high school. Her family of course can afford smartphone or tablet but she didn't buy anything for them, she let them use her old at least 5 years Samsung phone.

In England, I think for the most part evey one in high school has to have a device, I’m not completely sure but it’s a little more digitalised than Germany

Ha! I graduated 2020 in Germany from a private school and tech was demonized there. In the last two years we were allowed to use notebooks in class if they didn't make any noise while writing but out of 30 people, only one of my classmates actually used one.
Everyone else used pens and paper. At some point some of us actually helped carry out some old screens that must've been at least 20 years old. We had some crappy laptops that the school would hand us if they tried to explain PowerPoint to us or something like that but they were school property and rarely used.
No smart boards but elderly teachers who were overwhelmed with the beamers so class would start 15 minutes later 😂

I graduated in 2022 and got to see this stuff roll out in my last year. All we did on it was play kahoot cause the teachers mostly refused to learn how to use the smartboards

My goodness, my kid in the UK has had smart boards in his school since he was in primary school (20 years ago).
