People are killed everyday for their beliefs in God ! It’s sad we live in a world that continues to persecute people ! And think of the amazingly beautiful welcome that young man got when he walked into the Kingdom of Heaven!

This is it. I don’t know where I stand with God and you’ll probably not hear me ever talk about or profess about deity in general to people (lots and lots of terrible religious trauma, for one), but the idea that someone could kill another for *any* spiritual belief is horrifying and exactly the discord that is so common in the world we live in. As someone with religious trauma, that’s the kind of hate that was sown toward me by the people who assaulted me and defended it and denied it and ignored it, the people who hurt my family and denied my experiences — because they didn’t fit their version of God.

Denying other people’s views and experiences of the world is a hate nourishing seed that grows to discord and creates unresolvable conflict and violence. The notion that everyone you meet has something to offer that you can’t possibly know is a powerful antithesis to this story and a point that’s so easily missed (even in these comments), it’s gut-wrenching.

Well on the positive side God saved him before his death so that's a win in my book most 17 year Olds don't care to seek God so God new he was destined to come home early and saved that young man AMEN AMEN AMEN!!!!

the DEVIL was enraged and took on the form of her for that moment! That is so scary to think of how evil the devil really is. Someone finds God and has a beautiful feeling and their own friend becomes possessed enough to KILL a high school aged boy for mentioning the mere NAME of God. Good and evil are real. Jesus came and gave his life for us. He died for us so we could have eternal life. But Satan came to still, kill and destroy. Sadly that’s what he did to this 17 year old kid but at least he was able to find God right before.
