Old route is 57 km, new is 22km. Maths for up-down is: old route -57*2 = 114 Kms, new route = 22* 2 = 44, difference is 70 Km less for new route. My vehicle gives mileage of 10km per litre, so it basically saves 7 litres of diesel for me, and saves 7*94 = Rs 658 for me. Out of which i give Rs 375 as toll, which gives net savings of Rs 283 per trip. Also, it saves 3hours-40 mins which is 2 hours 20 mins

I truly appreciate the engineering marvel of the infrastructure. Kudos to the engineers! While it only takes 15 minutes to cross the bridge and reach Navi Mumbai, the real challenge for us Mumbaikars is how long it will take to reach the actual bridge during peak hours. Haha, the joys of city life!

Watching this video within 1 hour of its release.

I really loved how the Autocar India team covered all the nitty-gritty right from the inception to why the cables are not used considering the evergreen Bandra Worli sealink to how the Flamingos' migratory flow is taken care of and the barriers installed for sound and sight insulation to the Elephanta caves view from the bridge...

As always, the camera, drone, editing team makes the info more interesting to captivate to the screens.
I also personally love to watch the reviews with Hormazd Sorabjee's point of view...

Marvelous!😊

Built at a fast pace as well. Bandra Worli Sealink for example which is a fourth of this one's length took 11 years to complete.

Please make a dedicated video on the drive via Atal Setu vs the traditional drive from Mumbai to Navi Mumbai via the older route. Should be quite entertaining :)

I was living in Mumbai in 1985. At that time, this highway was conceived and was the talk of the town. Later we came to know that because of Naval Dockyard, the project has been shelved. Though I have left Mumbai a long ago, but it is heartening to know that the project has come to life and has been completed. Long Live India. Jai Bharat.
