Before I started watching Nikki uncut, I didn’t realize how much editing go into making these YouTube makeup videos. So I always felt incompetent when doing a full face of makeup because I felt it took too long. I would beat myself up when it exceeded 30mins 😢. Now watching Nikki, a professional makeup artist and more, doing her own makeup, I feel seen, heard, consoled and celebrated 😅😅thank you Nikki, you are an amazing human and an inspiration 😊🥰👌🏽

I very much like when you include the skin care too because you always have such great skin prep that it allows your makeup to glide across the skin and looks so seamless usually, so knowing what you did to get that base prior to your actual base is real helpful.

I'll be honest, I rotate my bag weekly if not daily. I have a lot of makeup, and it's all stuff I purchased because I really wanted to use it. I may feel like wearing glitter one day, matte the next, full coverage one day but a powder foundation or skin tint the next... I just like to play! My makeup time is my fun time every single day and gives me that one thing to enjoy no matter what kind of day I otherwise wind up having, and every night when I go to bed I look forward to what products I'll get to play with the next day. Life is often stressful; playing with makeup is just plain fun.

I’m in the midst of a two-month journey to revamp my makeup. This winter has emphasized that my skin is aging. (I turned 65 in 2024). I’ve been devouring your videos for help.

I have had to completely change my skincare regimen. I bought the Estée Lauder blockbuster and fell in love with the Advanced Night Repair, especially for my eyelids, which have gotten very dry and crinkly. The benefit is softer and glowing skin after years of my not noticing my skin was dull and drab. But I have to do the regimen every night. 🙄

I’ve changed to EL double wear foundation although I still have l’Oreal Infallible and Fenty Blur tint (but that’s not enough coverage). I love this foundation after years of making do.

I’m playing with eyeshadow and mascara, which I haven’t used since my 40s. That’s a steep learning curve, and I’m fighting fall-out and using the wrong moisturizer under the powder. I bought Paint Pot to counter that. I’m still having trouble with mascara that clumps and flakes.

The Milani baked blush is too dry.

Concealer is a mystery to me.

L’Oreal has four great shades that I will still use. I’ve found 2 Iredale lipsticks that work. I tried a Clarins red-case Joli lipstick, but it feels gritty going on and dried my lips out. Does it need a lip oil?

Your videos have been a GREAT help, and your personality and humor and candidness is very welcoming. The time you take, instead of rushing through, lowers my stress about learning new makeup techniques.

I have the dragon palette from Hourglass as well and use the top left powder as a last step to set under my eyes, middle of the forehead and chin and it’s so magical.
Keeping my fingers crossed that you pick up and review some products from the latest MAC nude collection. I just grabbed the lipstick in “Alone Time”. and NOW I’m on a makeup no-buy for 2025 😂 really trying to use up what I have and stick to only 2-3 brands that I love. Obviously your job is to review products from a wide range of brands so I don’t expect you or anyone else to do what I do but there’s just something satisfying to me about using products/formulations from one brand & seeing how they all work together.
Anyway, I love your long form content Nikki. You are such a sweetheart.
