Crete, Amiras memorial service

Island of Secrets by Patricia Wilson is based on the story of Amiras Village, Crete, in WW2. A woman, Maria, finds the strength to fight for the lives of her children. Every September, at the small chapel overlooking Amiras Village, the president of Greece attends a memorial service for the hundreds that died on one terrible September day in 1943.
