Free ₹5 Lacs Health Cover for Senior Citizens 70 and above

The government has recently approved the extension of Ayushman Bharat to all senior citizens aged 70 and above.

These senior citizens will now be eligible for health insurance coverage under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY), irrespective of their income.

PM-JAY would now provide free healthcare coverage of Rs 5 lakh to all citizens of the age-group of 70 years and above across the country.

To apply for the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, eligible individuals should follow these steps:

2. Get your Aadhaar card or ration card verified at a PMJAY kiosk

3. Submit family identification proofs

4. Obtain your printed e-card with a unique AB-PMJAY ID

Those who are already benefiting from other public health insurance schemes such as Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), or Ayushman Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) can either continue with their existing scheme or opt for AB PM-JAY.
