First I read that I was overwatering. Then I learn that I'm underwatering. Planting is hard 😞

The tips of my Peace Lily were turning brown. I water them with 3 day old tap water. I sat the watering can in a sink of hot water to warm it. New leaves are growing with no brown tips. They don't like cold water.

Yep, I’m guilty of all these plant care crimes. I moved house in winter 2023 so my patio containers were the last thing on my mind. The weeds took hold on the soil surface, plus I stopped watering because we had a wet winter. But, I now really the roots weren’t getting enough water. Then, when they began to look sad in late spring I decided to repot them. Thats when they went into repot shock, and the leaves started falling. Now I notice the remaining leaves which are plenty are turning brown. So I’m feeding and watering regularly and hoping they will begin to thrive once more - and I’m forgiven for tree neglect 😬
Thank you great tips! Update; my two trees are looking good, no leaf fall for three days 😅🙏😁👍

Another common cause of brown tips is the accumulation of salts from hard water. If your water is (hard) full of natural salts, flush the soil every few weeks by running water through the pot for several minutes to dissolve accumulated salts and wash them through the soil and out the bottom of the pot.

My beautiful philodendron is having this problem. She was growing beautifully for months then 2 of her mature leaves turned brown. I’m so glad I found this video. The nursery I bought her from said it was from over watering. So I watered her less. Poor baby is probably so thirsty! Do you prefer top watering or bottom watering?

If it not for the subtitles, I would not understand a single sentence!

I have this problem frequently. I thought that it is due to over watering so I was giving more time to watering.

But do we cut off the brown tips? Will they fix themselves?

I'm worried about my top soil drying faster than the rest of the tall bag I use and possibly drying out the top roots (base). Should I keep the top area damp or would that cause over watering?

I am sure my plant does not underwatering, because the soil always moist. But still my plant has that brown tip area.
