Bought a new Stihl 044 in 1988, no decompression valve, no problem. Later I purchased a Husqvarna 372xp that had a decompression valve, plugged it and never missed it! I have a McCulloch SP 125 with decompression valve, for me, VERY much needed!

Thanks! Would have been cool if you had tried to start it before and after the repair.

Don’t think of them sticking open so much. But have seen others where they had interference with the top covers etc. Thanks

Did the compression valve still move up and down or was it stuck open. I have the same saw and no compression, I checked the valve and it is really black but goes up and down. I took the muffler off and the piston and cylinder look good.

I have an older husky 55 farm boss. Is it the same location?

Do you have suggestions on how to stop a 455 Rancher from leaking bar oil while not in use? My local repair shop has no idea why it leaks. I've found several comments from people online, who have the same issue with Husqvarna chainsaws leaking oil.

Please can you help me.I have HUSQVARNA 365 special. It is relatively new.On the decompression valve and under have little oil and carbon. Anyway, It seems that chainsaw work normal and the compression is good... I don't use decompression valve for starting..Sorry for my bad english. Thanks for your answer...

I have a new saw that seems to go off of decompression before it starts, and I can't get it started. Looked for videos to see if anyone else had a problem like this. It's a 92cc saw and I need it decompressed to start. Looks like I will need to call customer service. My valve moves too freely, and I believe it's just popping open without doing me any good at all.

Did you go back by and tell that guy that he lied to you? Write him a bill for the repair! I hate liars!
