I have this tea maker, and it is great, however, the lowering and raising of the basket while the tea is brewing is entirely optional. You don't have to push the "basket" button like in this review. I usually just allow the tea to steep without the raising and lowering of the basket. In my experience, unless you are brewing a large amount of tea, then the continuous raising and lowering of the basket means the basket is out of the water for much of the steeping, leading to weaker tea.

I would like to put a bunch of tea in the machine like one a week or month, and not need to reload it every time I make a tea. Like coffee machines work.

Her demonstration was not thorough.  There is one demonstration, I think, by Williams-Sonoma that is more precise and accurate.  Make sure you read the manual that comes with the Tea Maker.  This is really a great machine if you like a good cup of tea.  Just boiling a kettle of water and pouring it over a tea bag is not the best way to make a good cup of tea.  Enjoy your day with a cup of tea made in your Breville Tea Maker!

Say there have you compared teas the old fashion way vs the breville tea maker xB TM800 xl ?
We would to see you compare a light green ..say a Japanese green using the tea maker vs the old fashion way hot water & pot .

I Have one of these tea makers and we always notice a "chemical taste" to our tea, , particularly the more delicate varieties ie green, white and most good oolongs.
