Thanks Roy. The white liquid is "Soluble oil" mixed with water = coolant. You can use the oil neat for thread cutting, drilling etc. or mix it with water like here and flood the tool. Soluble oil is mixed with water at a ratio of 10:1 (10parts water 1part coolant) or 15:1 or 20:1 depending on what you are doing. I usually just guess it at about 15:1 ratio for general use. A 5litre bottle will generally make about 100litres of coolant which is alot.

I flood coolant as well and feed witj consistent gentle feed… I’ve cut a lot of 303 ss with what seemed your speed n feed…. Still using same blade

I don’t kno what material that was but I assume mild steel… if so… I liked you surface speed… clipping along pretty good… enough coolant… imo you had it pegged. I run approximately that speed on 303 ss n 12L14. Great video!!! I think that was good machining right there.

Fascinating! Learning new things every time I watch your videos; like the way you reposition the cutter using the X/Y access controls to "get around" - cut - the circumference of the pipe. After you showed the cut off part, I thought it would make a good collar, with the addition of a set screw or two.
Novice Question 1: What is milky, coolant you use in this process?
Thanks for sharing you knowledge and skills.

Yeah i know.. RPM was perhaps a little fast for steel, but worked ok in the end... even with that mild chatter, there was no vibration coming through the machine or vice.

Gaylee Saws will give you speeds and feeds for cnc or manual machines also

Yeah its 72teeth, but with flood coolant, it shouldve been ok. Maybe rpm too high. I was in a kind of a hurry and this was the only option at the time. I think flex in the blade was causing most of the chatter.

I have already destroyed this saw because i fed it too fast into another piece of steel. Theres not real info for feeds and speeds for manual machines, so its a little trial and error. I have a pretty good feel now on how fast i can cut in steel and alloy.

Gaylee saws solid carbide is the way to go.

That's right, speed was too high for this, but wanted to test and see how it would cope. Result is for 1mm thick blade on steel, rpm is too high.

Yea well more feed doesn't solve the problem always.... I don't really have much experience with the saw
