It's the super shelter and the Swiss Engineers pack for me Luke. I Came across your Chanel over the Christmas holidays and I'm hooked on it. It's great to see another guy who's shares the same enthusiasm for the great outdoors. I' m currently putting together kit for a hike up Kilimanjaro this June and your reviews are invaluable. Keep up the great work.

PS, do you have any plans to review the 4 piece US GI Sleep system.

If you can have fire and maintain it, the lean-to with a long fire is probably the most versatile in the winter. Supposedly (ref Ray Mears),  it can keep you warm if you are caught out without the right gear.  The other shelters I think really depend on your sleep system for warmth.   Bushcraft pack needs to be able to handle "hard" gear like saw, axe etc.  Doesn't need to be huge but should be able to carry equipment without damaging the pack and have decent load bearing capability. Most modern packs are made for backpacking gear more than bushcraft gear. Rucksacks look good and are tough but are really just a big floppy bag on your back.  There is a reason most people use packs with some sort of frame system.  I've been curious about the Swedish pack with frame since I saw your initial review....actually had it my shopping cart for a while.  External frame is old tech that worked for a long time and is still a better option for some situations. Lets you carry more than just the pack can hold if needed.  I think it's the best bushcraft option.
