I am Texan, and looking very seriously into Eastern Orthodoxy. Protestantism feels dead to me, but Orthodoxy is so clearly alive. It’s as alive as our Lord and His saints.

For me as an orthodox Christian whose identity and traditions are firmly established in Orthodoxy many centuries ago, it is truly inspiring to know that our ancient Orthodox faith is flourishing in the USA. Greetings from Serbia!

As an Appalachian American in Pennsylvania, i grew up protestant. Struggled with my faith and found Christ again, feeling the draw towards orthodoxy. I pray I can pilgrimage to Holy Cross. I pray that Appalachia in whole thrives in christ again.

Im not even a Christian but I read "Appalachian Orthodoxy" and got me interested. Beautiful story. I love tradition and I admire the beauty of the ancient traditions of Orthodoxy. One thing I pick up on is unlike western Catholics, the Orthodox seem to cherish their traditions.

I'm the son of rural Appalachians, whose families farmed and mined coal, who loves the timeless landscape of West Virginia. And I'm a Presbyterian brother in Christ who is increasingly attracted to the unshakeable truths and traditions of Orthodoxy in this darkening world. I've long thought those two aspects were as distinct and irreconcilable as imaginable, but your story has truly broadened my vision. God Bless.
