Carvin Audio TRC Column Line Array Demo TRx3903

This demonstrates the "line array effect" by comparing the TRC active column array and a conventional speaker.

I like the demonstration. It shows the abilities of a line array. While I have never done such a test with my Bose L1 Model II with two B1's, I felt that when you are standing like 20 feet away from the column, that is when my ears were capturing the best audio from the line array. It stays consistent through the the whole room. While I am sure Carvin's 18's provide more shake and boom, my Bose Subs bass stays consistent even when I am in the bathroom of the bar I work in regularly, which is on the other side of the building. From what I have been reading on Carvin's system, I am just not sold on it yet, but will be keeping my eye on them. If the price point ever gets better, I would be willing to make the leap.

How do you get any mid bass punch out of those tiny little 30 watt drivers?

I just want to know whether I need one or two columns for a 4 piece rock band (2 guitars, bass and drums) playing small to medium club gigs.

I just had our mains/subs hitting 118 dB... 150 dB is ear drum puncture, and 165 is ear rupture 🤣 - that was the 5, 000w setup. I think the 10, 000w setup is going to be insane. Speakers were not even distorting a bit. The subs hit so hard. This guy in the video is uninspiring. This system is awesome!

Where do you even buy these? Carvin’s site doesn’t even have an option to buy.

Put more small elements in paralell and the dropp should be even less. :)

the thing is, you can't effing dance to white noise! NOT a "demo", a THUMBS DOWN!!! kinda makes someone think you have something to hide when you don't actually play anything on your speakers.
