As part of Elmbridge Museum's collaboration on the 'Nothing About Us Without Us' lockdown portraits and oral histories project, I delivered a training session on the oral history process to volunteer interviewers.
If you're new to oral history and would like to try conducting your own oral history interview, take a look at this five part how-to session, in which I talk through the whole process from initial preparation to completion.
You can also find my accompanying manual free to download on Elmbridge Museum's 'Elmbridge At War' online exhibition page.

In this part 4, I discuss some general 'dos' and 'don'ts' for before, during and after conducting your interview, including tips on how to make the interview better.
