Take a step forward if you're drafted and/or perform most frontline roles,
Take a step forward if you do all the dangerous and unclean jobs in society,
Take a step forward if you're expected to get hit and not hit back.

Same result.

"Stunning and brave" is what you want to hear, I guess? How about this question: "I feel safe knowing that I will never have to work in sewers, or 300 feet in the air on cell towers."

They dehumanize the men below them in the global hierarchy and only consider the men above them as people. That is how they maintain this cognitive dissonance.

If you wanna empower women, stop telling them that they are victims all the time.Go empower women in India, Iran or somewhere where it makes sense.

Boy just wait until you ladies meet the 'newcomers'. It's gonna be lit.

damn, you women are putting up quite a fight against the patriarchy. you can tell from your immensely consumed physiques and expressions, you are having a really tough time. I can't help but draw close parallels to soldiers in the trenches in WW1.

The whole thing makes me feel so uncomfortable that it feels like we all took a step backwards.

All other flaws of something-walks aside.
Isn't this exercise completely pointless when you do not have even a single man to stand still and prove your point?

Without men, you cannot compare the results between men and women, so you cannot use this particular test to quantify male privilege.

I can't believe nonsense like this actually had 3 likes in 2 days when I came to the page. I am glad they feel like this was meaningful, doesn't look like it to me, just looks like more modern people embracing their victimhood on social media for fake internet points.

Misfits in a field doing nothing which actually matters or has meaning. Well done 👏

I see a lot of good points made in the comments here. You're not "stunning and brave" for doing whatever you're doing in a safe environment where you're not in a risk of getting persecuted by the authority.
You people claiming that you're "oppressed", is a great insult to the actual oppressed women in any Muslim countries or African countries where they are actually living as second or third class citizens, where they may not even be allowed to leave their home or drive cars.

Okay, it's getting some push back from random men I see. To give this a bit more context, following two comments here: the exercise was done by more women in the course of a program that lasted one week where we did also work on empowerment (see role models video e.g.), so this is an exercise to bring awareness. Secondly, the privilege walk can be done about other topics, including statements regarding female privileges like not being drafted into the army, not being expected to be the breadwinner of the family, etc.
