I love dividend investing, because it allows me to buy quality dividend paying companies at great prices, which will eventually allow me to one day live off of dividend income. Some of the strongest dividend paying companies in the world are what’s called a dividend king. Dividend kings are companies that are members of the S&P 500 and have increased the amount they pay in dividends for over 50 consecutive years. These are typically stable companies that generate major free cash flow, which allows them to reward their shareholders in the form of dividends. In this video, I analyze the 5 dividend kings that have the highest dividend yield. Let me know in the comments what you think of these companies!

MO just upped their dividend yesterday. YAY! 3M dropped 10% today due to news, should be a buy pretty soon as the market heads down too.

you sir just got a new sub because of the nice and easy layout of dividend. what would be nice is the dividend per year payout vs current price vs your models to calculate prices. so its easy to sort which has highest dividend etc by more numbers :D

Some of the companies youv'e mentioned are really great, thanks for the analysis! 3M payout ratio is definitely something pretty rare today. We usually see REITS with those kind of ratios, but it looks like 3M is old school conglomerate since their dividend payout ratio is like in Ben Graham's time. Also, Abbvie's Humeira patent is about to expire in 2023 so the short-term total return might be affected. But we believe that for the long-term holders Abbvie is an amazing company.

Are these positions held in an IRA or taxable account?

I am not saying these are not great companies but there are quality stocks with much higher dividends. During this recession/depression you cannot expect big gains in companies selling furniture.
