A quick video breaking down my process of animating a Photoshop illustration using After Effects. From creating the illustration to splitting the layers and then finally animating the character. The star of the show is the hair, which was surprisingly simple to do with the help of AFP Hair Rig script.

Another amazing video, I always wondered how people make illustrations like these, maybe I even try to make my own.

That was epic!
Without lasso tool, I wonder how long it will take to redraw everything, especially with merged layers lol
Loved the outcome especially the hair, looks so lively and cuteee

Genius and underrated. I do after effects a little bit myself and i can tell you it is not easy, especially when you run into problems and have to troubleshoot it yourself. Tppo here has turned his experience into a tutorial for all of us, and we really appreciate that 👍😊

Just wanted to say your videos are immensely helpful. I've always wanted to try animating a character like this, and i have compelete knowledge of after effects. but had no idea how to go about it. I feel like i could confidently do it now, especially knowing the hair script. Your videos are great please keep them coming!!

This will only work if you have extensive knowledge of Adobe After Effects. Because it was so condensed and brief, a lot of important details was not mentioned. I was really hoping that it was extensive and mentioned every single detail. For example, how many layers do you split for the hair? The base, the lineart, the shadows, the highlights? Or is there one single layer for the hair with all of these components imported into After Effects? Details like these can save lives, you know.
